Old Town of Lijiang

Old town of Lijiang, also called Dayan town, is a central town of the Lijiang Autonomous County of the Naxi Ethnic Minority in Yunnan Province. It is a national historical and cultural city and was regarded as one of the four well-preserved ancient cities. In 1997, it was listed as the world cultural heritage.

Lijiang is a beautiful shining jewel in the Northwest Yunnan. It had a history of more than 800 years. It is home to the Naxi people, descendants of the Tibetan Qiang tribes, as well as the Dongba culture which is regarded as one of the few living fossils of ancient culture exists in the modern world. Scriptures, paintings, music, dances, everything here are expressing the beauty of the unique culture.

Besides its brilliant history, it is also known for its wonderful scenery. Its name Dayan literally means a “great inkstab”, which gives a vivid description of the town’s location. As its name implies, it is on a piece of rich flatland fed by a river and surrounded by green mountains. Here, houses are made of wood and have their own unique characteristics. Most of them consist of a living area and a yard. The town, surrounded by green mountains and facing a river, has no high walls. The old style and prosperous street will take you back to in history for hundreds of years. When you are tired, the bars near the river will be your best choice to have a daydream.

Rocky Reach Dam

Rocky Reach Dam is an above average sized hydroelectric dam that spans the Columbia River just north or the city of Wenatchee. It offers some fun things for visitors to do and see when they go there. There is a wide open playground complete with picnic areas and climbing toys, a fish viewing window, a cafe, and a visitors center. A walk out across the western portion of the dam takes visitors to the Museum of the Columbia, a fantastic historical look at the Columbia River and the surrounding area, as well as the viewing area overlooking the dam’s spillway gates.

The community of Leavenworth, Washington is a Bavarian themed community that is popular from tourists from all over the Pacific Northwest and the entire country. The Beaches

Cyprus offers a variety of different beaches to suit everyone. These include golden, white and dark sandy beaches, pebble and rock beaches, isolated in green or desert environments, lagoon style to rough sea-like waters; this list goes on and on. All of the beaches are very clean with more than 50 having been awarded the Blue Flag. More than 30 of the islands beaches have facilities for handicapped visitors.

The Ayia Napa Nissi Beach, Protaras Bay Beach and Konnos Beach in the east have soft golden sands and calm clear waters while the beaches in Larnaca have much darker sands. Limassol beaches have many hotels right on the shoreline while the Pissouri there are high cliffs on two sides of the bay. Paphos beaches are similar to those found in Limassol but if you are looking for more isolated beaches you should go to Latchi or Polis. For complete isolation the Lara coast, west of the Akamas peninsula, will give you the complete solitude you are looking for! Some of the beaches to the east of Limassol are quite amazing with a combination of white rock and dark sand. Be aware that on the west coast, north of Paphos, the seas tend to be much rougher than in other parts of the island.
