Historical LandmarksYour Guide to Historical Landmarks in Brevard County is an official publication of the Brevard County Historical Commission. National Historic Landmarks are properties designated by the Secretary of the Interior for their outstanding integrity and significance to the nation as a whole. This historical landmark is exactly where National Artist Vicente Manansala spent his final days. The City’s Landmarks Commission decides whether or not a house should be a designated Structure of Merit, or Landmark, and makes a recommendation to City Council on Historic District designation, based on specific necessary findings contained in the Landmarks Ordinance. Nowadays, less than 2,400 historic locations all through the USA have been designated as National Historic Landmarks.
