Fun Family Attractions In The Twin Cities

Minneapolis is often ranked near the top for best cities to live, work or learn. As a result there are over 2 million family households in the Minneapolis area, according to the 2010 census. Providing fun for these families is big business in the Twin Cities and there are a wide variety of attractions, events and festivals available. Some attractions, such as Valley Fair Amusement Park, are seasonal. Others, like the Minnesota Children’s Museum, are open all year long. Parents who are looking for something fun to do with their family don’t have to look far, no matter what time of year. There are so many museums, festivals, major attractions, parks and smaller attractions available that a family can attend something different every weekend for an entire year.

Museums

The Twin Cities is home to many museums, some of which are designed specifically with families in mind. Nationally known examples include the Science Museum of Minnesota and the Minnesota Children’s Museum. These two museums are filled with hands on, interactive exhibits for kids of all ages. The Children’s Museum also offers free entrance on the third Sunday of each month. Memberships to each of these museums is another way to reduce the overall cost. Children will often ask to go to one or both repeatedly as each has travelling exhibits that stay for several months at a time.

The Kumbh Mela is the one of the largest human congregation in the world, with over 130 million pilgrims are willing to reach in the festival with the faith that taking a holy dip in the water of Ganges River will give the way for their salvation and would rid them of their past sins.

The city is ready for the ultimate festival called Kumbh Mela of 2019. During Kumbh Mela, many devotees visit the Sangam city which is getting brightened up.  The authorities of Mela Pradhikaran and Allahabad division of North Central Railways have partnered to construct on amazing factors to the city.

Colourful Prayagraj Kumbh Mela

Kumbh Mela is 45 days occasion which will commence from January 2019 that will be witnessed by many Hindu and other devotees from across the globe.  After the midnight, group of devotees who have assembled here for the mela from within the country and abroad, began moving towards the bathing ghats with loud religious chantings and melodious singing of ‘bhajans’ reverberated through the streets of the city for most of the night.

With lot of positive energy visitors reached the ghats that were lit up like Diwali with multiple colors and lights, with lot of heightened security and waited for the “Shahi Snan” (the royal bath) to take place. The electrifying moment started just before dawn when, with prayers dedicated to the spiritual power in their each breath, the visitors took the holy dip in the water of river Ganga as cold as ice. There are around 13 akharas that will be part in the auspicious “Shahi Snan” with each being given about 45 minutes by the Kumbh authorities. The ceremonial bath is attracting huge crowds as devotees continue to come here in large numbers which, according to legends, opens the doors to heaven.

Thus the city is given a new long through vibrant color painting on every wall of the city. Allahabad takes a shot at a wall painting as a feature of a continuous venture ‘Paint my City’ for the grand Kumbh Mela celebration.  The street art will preserve the Cultural Diversity and Heritage of Uttar Pradesh and Prayagraj city, Religious- the Spiritual and scientific connotation of the Kumbh, a background of the Kumbh, Social Awareness messages and public service messages all would be well represented through paintings.
