Travel guide publisher Lonely Planet has released its annual list of the ideal areas to visit in Europe , this year opting for a mix of the usual suspects (Venice, the Dordogne) and a scattering of off-the-beaten track places such as the Dutch island of Texel. Hong Kong is a single of the most costly cities in the world to travel to, with hotel costs regularly increasing as land is more and far more tricky to come by. Regardless of the rates, it remains a traveller’s favourite and is set to be 1 of the most visited international hubs in 2016.
